DESCRIPTION:
The Carson City Mint has always
been a favorite among Morgan silver dollar collectors, and the limited
number of early production run coins that receive the Deep Mirror
Prooflike designation increase this coin's allure. This example
exhibits frosty devices on a medium depth of mirrored fields, and the
solid strike is generally typical of this date and mintmark.
There are no distracting marks on Liberty's cheek and the field in
front of her face; there is some weakness of strike on the eagle's
breast feathers, but nothing unusual for a Morgan silver dollar of any
year and mintmark. A much rarer coin in higher grades than
current pricing would indicate.
