DESCRIPTION:
Deep Mirror Proof-Like Morgan Silver
Dollars are some of the most beautiful coins ever minted. What many
collectors/investors miss is the fact that the total Mint State
population for this variety is much less than the regular business
strikes in MS65; since the frosty devices and deeply mirrored fields
could only be produced from new dies, the total number minted is also
a fraction of the total regular business strike mintage.
This San Francisco mint issue shows an unusually strong strike, with
just a hint of golden toning splashed upon the frosty devices.
The cheek and field in front of Liberty's nose have only minor bagmarks for
such a large coin, and the mirrors are watery to give an almost cameo
effect. While just a faint weakness of strike appears on the
eagle's breast, the reverse's fields are mainly free of haziness.
Another undervalued coin.
