U.S. Rare Coin Market Update - BiMonthly

Just a Sampling of Coins Recommended by Advisor

Discretionary Managed Account for U.S. Rare Coins
The following outlines the primary administrative details of our advisor-directed managed account program, the Tangible Asset Program (T.A.P.):
  1. Wexford Capital Management (W.C.M.) will be granted a very limited power of attorney through its INVESTMENT ADVISORY AGREEMENT / Tangible Asset Program to act on behalf of the client, on primarily a discretionary basis, for the purchase and sale of numismatic coins up to the total dollar amount previously authorized in writing by client.
  2. Clients will be invoiced for individual coin purchases for payment (within 10 days of receipt of invoice) by return mail.
  3. The WCM selected coins will be sent to the client's address by Insured Registered Mail, Return Receipt Requested and fully insured, for placement in a safe deposit box or other appropriate depository under the client's control; third-party depository arrangements can be made at the client's expense, but it is assumed that most clients will want to enjoy viewing and studying these truly rare coins.

The program's commission schedule for purchases, which is applied based upon cumulative purchases made under the program, is as follows:

First $50,000 of Purchases
Next $75,000 of Purchases
Next $100,000 of Purchases
After $225,000 of Purchases
7.00% of invoice
6.50% of invoice
6.00% of invoice
5.50% of invoice

W.C.M.'s commission for researching, selecting, and negotiating a rare coin investment purchase will appear on the invoice as well as the advisor's per item cost.

It is anticipated that most rare coin purchases will be made for the client at a total cost of 10% to 20% over current dealer bid or competitive wholesale price. Normal mark-ups over dealer bid are usually in the 25% to 35% range or higher. Since WCM is also an authorized NGC dealer, the advisor is able to obtain very high quality numismatic material just above dealer-to-dealer or current wholesale prices.

The commission charged for presenting a coin set or portfolio to an individual buyer, dealer, or auction company and negotiating a final net sales price is as follows:

Portfolios under $225,000
Portfolios at or over $225,000
3.00% of Net Sales Price*
2.00% of Net Sales Price*

* Net sales price is defined as the proceeds from the sale that are net from any third-party selling costs or commissions incurred in order to effect a final sale.
